1. What does PBIS stand for?
“PBIS” stands for "Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports". It is sometimes referred to SWPBS, which is short for “School-wide Positive Behavior Supports.” Here at Rothschild and at DCE, we use the PBIS terminology.
2. What is PBIS?
Taken directly from their site, "PBIS is a framework that assist school personnel in academic and social behavior outcomes for all students through positive interventions. PBIS IS NOTa packaged curriculum. PBIS IS a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) improve their implementation of those practices, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students. PBIS supports the success of ALL students."
